Charles Walker Band
Deliciously Stanky. Dynamically Funky. Recklessly Hopeful. Grounded in soul, the Charles Walker Band has been compared to Prince, Bruno Mars, Chaka Khan, and James Brown. The Milwaukee based band has refined their sound into Neo-Funk, a fusion of funk infused rhythms with pop melodies. The three-piece band rehearses tirelessly in Charles’ basement, amidst couches and low ceilings, Charles stooping the entire time. At show time, surprisingly, there are no fans. There is only family. The question posed at the beginning of the show is, Are we family or not?
Call Me Córdoba - (Set time: 7:00 PM)
Call Me Córdoba
Call Me Córdoba is a full-throated, jubilant, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter. From the guitar and from the piano, his songs bring us through an all too familiar world of melancholy forgetfulness into a fresh, original celebration of life and remembrance. He blends elements from the contemporary traditions of Heather Maloney, Gregory Alan Isakov, Andrew Hozier-Byrne, and Norah Jones. His songs are like the people you hope to meet––layered and deeply involved with life and yet filled with hope, smiling, and at ease.

Acclaimed Americana musician Tim Eriksen (Cold Mountain, 2003) has said this about Call Me Córdoba’s first, home-recorded EP: “Lost and Found is a literate and deeply personal treatment of themes universal and autobiographical…Autobiography aside, I can imagine contemporaries finding songs in this collection that they might want to make their own.”
