The Marauders - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
The Marauders
The Marauders are a original New York / Southern California based reggae band with socal beach reggae vibes mixed with gritty New York hip hop roots. Founded by singer song writer Ralph Sirico formally of the popular underground reggae band When I Rise. Sirico started the band in off time during sessions as a publishing songwriter for major label acts with other session musicians he was working with. One of those musicians was trumpet player Dustin Hengle who just got off tour with Willie Nelson and after hearing the demos Sirico was working on jumped on board forming the the trademark horns that define the bands sound. After the bands successful debut record Exit the storm in 2016 Sirico decided to put together a touring band to bring the energy of the recordings to life on stage. If you love bands such as Sublime and Matisyahu you'll absolutely love the sounds and energy of the Marauders! To date the band is made up of Ralph Sirico on vocals, Tony Latrace on drums , Sri Viswanath on bass, Alex Poblet on keys , Takeshi Hiwatari on guitar , Dustin Hengle on Horns, Ron Harter on horns , Bryan Walters on horns and Vocals, and TJ Robinson on horns.
Butterbrain - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Butterbrain is a New York area based funk/punk/rock group- spawned from Elektra Records early 90’s funk-rock pioneers - White Trash. Founded by Aaron Collins - writer of White Trash’s 1991 MTV hit single Apple Pie, which reached the Top 40 Billboard charts, and containing several members of the original group- including members of its uniquely funky horn section - The BadAss Brass, Butterbrain went on to put out its one and only debut CD in 2008 to rave reviews and gigged locally on the East Coast for a short time. Due to Collins’ touring and recording commitments with punk rock legends- Murphy’s Law and Skarhead (Relativity, I Scream Records) and the eventual re-formation of WhiteTrash, Butterbrain was left on the shelf as a short-lived, but well received side-project.
Fast forward to 2018, and in response to a high demand on the underground local NY music scene- Butterbrain was asked to reunite for a local event in East Harlem. The immediate response and requests for new music were overwhelming- and sparked the group to get back into the studio to record some new tracks (which are planned to be released shortly). With renewed energy and focus- Collins has stopped touring with all other bands to concentrate solely on making new music with Butterbrain, and gigging on a full-time basis. “My commitment and focus is on Butterbrain, and this group of guys. The energy and vibe from this group, especially live, is unmatched by any group I’ve ever played with,” says Collins. which is quite a statement considering some of the legendary live acts he has toured with- including Murphy’s Law and White Trash. If you like heavy rock and/or punk music, mixed with a heaping dose of funk- you will love the ear candy of Butterbrain. Reminiscent of the sounds of an early Fishbone and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, this party music is sure to keep any crowd bouncing. Great underground NY band. Check em out!!
